Linode
Instance name: Linode 2GB (1 vCPU, 2GB RAM)
Storage: 50GB storage + 1$ for every extra 10GB
Traffic: 2TB
Features: everything you’d want
Monthly cost: $12
Setup fee: n/a
Notes:
- gets quickly costly for more powerful instances
- managed Kubernetes comes at no extra cost
Contabo
Instance name: Cloud VPS S (4 vCPU, 8GB RAM)
Storage: 50GB NVME or 200GB SSD (Double that for ~1.50€ extra / month, no per-usage storage upgrades)
Traffic: 32TB out, unlimited in
Features: simple panel for VNC KVM, starting and stopping and provisioning via cloud-init, optional backup space, object storage or monitoring, no per-size block storage
Monthly cost: 6.99€
Setup fee: 1 month worth
Notes:
- cheap as fuck, but management tools are nonexistant
- apparently their uptime isn’t that good, they’ve just randomly went down today (2023-10-11) and they expect to resolve in 3 hrs → maybe don’t use them for critical applications
Hetzner

Storage: 40GB, extra: € 0.052 / GB per month
Traffic: 20TB
Features: everything you’d want
Monthly cost: 5.18€

Notes:
- Middle ground between Linode and Ionos
- dirt cheap storage (Storage boxes)

Ionos
Instance name: VPS Linux S (2 vCPU, 2GB RAM)
Traffic: unlimited
Storage: 80GB
